Trained NINJAS
A Listerine stop motion experiment
Insight:

Teenager boys don't take oral health too seriously

Idea:

To make oral health more appealing to our target, we will turn Listerine strips into a fun ninja character that trains hard to kill bacteria

STORYBOARDING AND IDEATION

I learned about the process of storyboarding for the film including camera angles and finding movie references for composition. I also did a character exploration and animation research on movement.

Set design and mock up

I had never held a construction tool in my life... I had to learn how to saw, drill, laser-cut, bend and cut wire, use a nail gun and more. We created a cardboard mock-up set to test the scale on camera, as well as any composition decisions.

The final set was made out of MDF wood and hand-painted.

puppet construction

This was by far the most CHALLENGING part of the entire process. I had to learn everything about making a silicone mold sculpting and rigging a character. It took 6 different tries before I created a silicone puppet that was actually usable.
